The Palate Patrol was back on duty this week & Marlin’s Family Restaurant at the Tea Exit was up to the challenge. Here is what the team had to say: Scott: I had the 8 oz. Spicy Bourbon Sirloin w/skillet potatoes, mixed vegetables & side salad. The steak came smothered in sautéed mushrooms & onions & completely covered in bourbon sauce & melted pepper jack cheese. It was perfectly cooked & absolutely delicious. Mark J: Since Marlin’s is one of my favorite places to eat breakfast in Sioux Falls, I decided to order breakfast. They serve breakfast 24 hours a day which is always a benefit to give you more options for a meal. I ordered the Three Meat Skillet with wheat toast. The skillet included bacon, sausage, ham, cheese & potatoes. The large portions & great price always make Marlin’s a great choice. John R: I chose the Egg Bacon Cheeseburger which was juicy & cooked just right to where the over-medium egg broke open & covered the burger patty! It is truly a mouthwatering combination! The staff was great & the food was excellent. I would recommend Marlin’s for sure! Mary: I had the daily special, Salisbury Steak w/home made mashed potatoes & gravy w/vegetables & a bun. I asked why they served it with a knife because it was so tender I cut it with my fork. The portions are great, I will not be eating dinner tonight!
Manager Terry Northern sat down to let us know a bit more about Marlin’s Family Restaurant. There are 7 different locations in South Dakota that are all family owned & operated. Marlin’s specializes in great food for a great value & is open 24 hours with daily quick lunch specials, 2-4-1 Burger Night, & Kids eat free during the week. Terry also shared with us the Marlin’s Challenge—a 3lb. burger fully loaded! If you can eat it all in an hour it is free & you get to list your name on the Hall of Fame. Overall a unanimous thumbs up from those of us here at the Palate Patrol!
