This week found the Palate Patrol dining at Puerto Vallarta (West location). We started out with soft drinks, Tortilla Chips & homemade Salsa plus a side of Mexican Chicken Taquitos. It was evident from the start they make everything from scratch. Here is what the Palate Patrol had to say:

John R.: “For my main course, I ordered a Super Burrito Manadero which is a soft tortilla stuffed w/chicken, rice & beans covered w/melted cheese, enchilada sauce & sour cream. The atmosphere is a mix of modern & traditional – very clean & inviting. I need a siesta now, I hope my boss doesn’t catch me.”

Dee J.: “I had Enchiladas en Crema (ground beef). They were fabulous. My favorite part was Luis Gutierrez, Owner and ‘Mr. Everything’ at Puerto Vallarta! He could be a standup comedian. The restaurant guests were being entertained for just the price of their meal – he’s hilarious. I love great customer service & businesses that CARE that you are patronizing their establishment. It’s evident, Luis & his staff care!”

Mark J.: “I’m the one on the Palate Patrol that always eats too much before the meal ever gets to the table. So, I ordered light w/1 huge Beef Enchilada & 1 huge Beef Burrito, both of which were larger than my stomach. The best part for me was wearing the sombrero. I’ve always wanted to have one of those hats!”

Mary S.: 2 Beef Enchiladas w/rice & beans. The Enchiladas were stuffed w/beef & the traditional red enchilada salsa. They were topped w/melted cheddar cheese. I will go back with my family on the weekend for a good authentic Mexican meal & one of their Sangria drinks – plus to deliver Luis the homemade Carrot Cake I promised him!”

Yummy.”

Gabriel Rivero was our ‘singing’ waiter. He sang in Spanish Opera to wish a diner a Happy Birthday. It was awesome! Their bar has 10 different brands of Mexican beer & the Sangrias & Pina Coladas are from their homemade mix. Another secret is that their Westside location can take reservations for parties up to 50. If you want to have some fun, great food & not spend over your budget, go to Puerto Vallarta.
